Why donations matter:
It’s a great day at the AIA when donors are able to see how their contribution made a difference. The Hoyo Negro project asked for a small grant to secure the underwater site so that it could be properly excavated. As a result, they’ve made one of the most significant finds in recent history—a human skeleton that links Paleoamericans and Modern Native Americans, making it the oldest, most complete human skeleton in the New World to date.
